The Gurdwara

The Golden Temple, Amritsar, India, 2006. My sister and I were made welcome here, looked after by “uncles” who chased off harassing men, given free meals at the langar, fed the most delicious gobi parathas on earth by a young woman and her father who invited us into their home, and helped out with logistics by kind strangers. All of these people were Sikhs. My thoughts are with the community in Wisconsin. (photo by Amanda Watters)
